Commercial and Industrial Roof Types

Unlike many of our competitors, we work on a diverse range of roof types. While most commercial and industrial structures tend to use flat roofs, we have seen some that use other types. That’s why we don’t limit ourselves to flat roofs. We do everything from flat to low slope, and even steep-slope roofs.

Roofing Materials

We work with a variety of materials. The only material we don’t do is spray foam. However, our team specializes in single-ply and hot and cold built-up (the most common type of material used for flat roofs).

• Hot Built-Up: Hot built-up is a type of roofing membrane that uses multiple layers of reinforcement plies that are adhered with hot asphalt and surfaced with a variety of materials. This substance provides high flexibility and puncture resistance. The result is a durable, watertight roof system.
• Cold Built-Up: This is another type of built-up material; however, it uses cold application cement instead of hot asphalt. It is applied when hot materials aren’t appropriate to use on a building.
• Single-Ply System: Single-ply refers to flexible sheets of compounded plastic material. It’s typically used to cover and protect flat and low-sloped buildings. Using single-layer roofing material is a very clean process that can be applied without flaming torches or smoking kettles. And it doesn’t emit strong odors. 

Material Lifespan

How long the roofing material lasts depends on multiple factors. A roof that’s been improperly installed can shorten the lifespan of material. Weather is also known to have a big impact on material life expectancy. If you live in an area where the weather changes drastically between spring, summer, fall, and winter, the material will be under increased stress and life expectancy will be reduced.
